The Lachine Concert Band was founded way back in 1916, and has been active ever since. If the photos in our rehearsal hall are anything to go by, the band was originally a marching band, with those nafty uniforms so familiar from the black and white movies of the 30’s and 40’s. Nowadays, we don’t march at all, and our uniforms are a bit less baroque.
We meet once a week for rehearsal, and we usually play 10 or so concerts per year. This includes a Christmas concert, a spring concert at l’Entrepot in Lachine, several outdoor concerts in various parks all across Montreal island, and events at old folks homes and at the Veteran’s hospital.
